This week is going to be intense. I have to finish everything I have to do as soon as I can because, starting tomorrow, I wil have to work in the next 2 shows at the gallery full time. EXCITING!. Plus the Atiende! Magazine, plus Pelo de Poni zine w/tsbh, plus my next illustrated book, plus regular work, plus work at the gallery, plus living the living…argh!. I like it, no more complaining. But that does not mean it wont be a hard week. And its a grey Mordor-looking day…so what!.
I know I havent updated my website for a long time. So here are two of the many record covers Im working on (if you want to have a look at the inserts, back cover, etc…buy them and support Madridian bands!). The ones that Im allowed to post are here since they are both closed, approved and all. The rest are still in progress…sorry!.

In the other hand, the Captain America & Falcon comic lot serie is about to arrive. Probably this week. This is something I cant wait to have in my hands. I have been after this team-up collection for a long time and now its mine. I loved The Falcon a lot when I was a kid. And Its weird. I realized the other day that when I was young I really liked superheroes with a gay aura and uniform around them. Such as Hawkeye, The Falcon or Thor. Interesting…Anyway, cant wait to read them all!

Everything is quiet at the studio. Gran Vía seems to have stopped in space and time. Hangovers, blankets, sleepy heads, free time, relax, lazy asses, walks…Just a regular Sunday I guess. Today Im going to spend the whole day organizing my personal projects. Maybe keep on thinking about the new proposal for Prisma En LLamas / Atomizador split 12″ because Im not very happy with the one I already did ( I will post soon, promise).

Hooray! now the phase number 1 of the experiment is completed. Now its time to go to the next level and bring this illustration to the platform we are trying to investigate in. I dont know if it will work but I guess that by next week everything will be set and done. Crossed fingers…This will also be in the second part of the book that will be out in Nobrow soon (which will be the Vol.I).
Im already working in the continuation even though the first volumen is not out yet, I know, but things have to be done the right way and with everything I want to do for the next one, I better start now.

After doing some work for the gallery (updating, press kits, etc) today I think I will be continueing Pelo De Pony issue#01 (a zine we started long ago and that I think its time to finish because it should have been out by April 19th. Damn deadlines!). So today its going to be a funny friday, isolated, being productive. At last!. Because this week has been intense with clients, friends, visits…
Im biting my tongue. I want to name some of the artists that will be showing their work at the gallery next but I cant! I have to close dates first, make it real, you know. I would also list some of the artists that will be featured in Atiende! Magazine but I think its too soon. Should I? do you want to know? Your call!

In a week or so Gssh! Gssh! Records will be attending Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona. To be honest I´m not a festival kind of a guy. Big masses make me nervous plus watching bands play in this kind of events its always boring. They all sound the same: BAD. No matter if they are a pop band or a grind-core band. They are all the same shit.
But this festival is different. Its more an opportunity to meet old friends that you never see and only meet there once a year than enjoying music itself. Its been years since I dont go and this year I hope it will be fun. I dont really want to go, I have to say, but I guess that once Im there, I´ll be happy to see my people.
Besides that, Mayhem are playing. I know they stopped being a great band from the day Dead committed suicide and Euronymus was killed by Varg Vikernes but, I dont know, Im a big fan. De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas is an awesome record, a classic…I have never seen them live so it will be exciting, I guess. Also bands like: Liturgy, Napalm Death, Orthodox, Off!…are playing. So this year Im giving it a chance.
I always end up sitting at the stand working, talking to people, missing all the bands. That is a classic too. We will see. I will report.

Im also finishing some illustrations for my next book. I was thinking the other day that to make a book takes kind of a huge effort and dedication. I like that, but being an impatient kid does not help at all. I want it to be done in half an hour. ARGH!.
Anyway, here is a close up preview of my next experiment. Wait and see.

Its inevitable, summer is here. And “summer” in Madrid means dry burning sun til around 8pm. Your nose bleeds, you sleep drawning in your own sweat, bars are packed with people dying for a cold beer, the city looks like a ghost town with eveyone´s blinds closed during the day like if we were under a zombie attack, silent, noone moves in the shadows, concrete turns to lava, no air, no breathing. You could easily find a lost tourist´s skeleton lying on the corner with a map and backpack. If we had the ocean near this city it wouldnt be such a lovely place. I like Madrid and during this period of the year you HAVE TO wake up early to feel a little bit of fresh air because the punishing heat is around the corner…

Im very into the next book of illustrations Im working on (among other million plans – UUF!). I already have 3 pages and I think it will be something weird. I say this because Im trying a different style, something new, it would be kind of an experiment I guess. Besides being drawings for a book, this illustrations will be used for my next show in Bilbao, @ Belaza Gallery next September…

I just recieved an email asking me if I wanted to be part of a collective show here.
Obviously, its a YES. And its a curious thing thy asked because I was talking to a friend yesterday night about doing something more than just paintings. I was telling him that I wanted to take a step further, do something I have never done before. And we came out with a great idea. I have to work in the production and see how I can do this but, trust me, this is something VERY exciting.
And since I recieved this proposal I think this is the perfect opportunity to start this new thing in NYC. Hooray!
